Hwaseong Special City Installs 8 Cooling Fans Along Golden Coast Trail
In response to the summer heat wave, Hwaseong Special City completed the installation of cooling fans at eight key sections of the Golden Coast Trail on the 7th, so that citizens and tourists can use the trail more safely and comfortably.
This installation of cooling fans was carried out to reduce the inconvenience caused by the intense heat and to prevent heat-related illnesses. Taking into comprehensive account factors such as on-site accessibility and frequency of use, the city placed the cooling fans mainly at points frequently visited by users and provided resting spaces where people can escape the heat.
As a result, citizens and tourists visiting the Golden Coast Trail during the heat wave will be able to briefly cool off and rest while on the move, allowing them to use the trail more safely and comfortably.
Following the eight locations where cooling fans were installed this time, the city plans to install fans at eight additional sites. Once the additional installations are complete, cooling fans will be operated at a total of 16 locations, which is expected to further improve the summer environment for using the Golden Coast Trail.
Hwaseong Special City Mayor Jeong Myeong-geun said, “During periods of prolonged heat waves, it is important to provide spaces where citizens and tourists visiting outdoor attractions can escape the heat, even briefly, and rest safely,” adding, “As the Golden Coast Trail is a representative coastal tourist destination of Hwaseong Special City visited by many citizens and tourists, we will work to create an environment where people can feel at ease visiting even in the hot summer.”
