Suwon Jangan-gu Jowon 1-dong and Yonsei University FMP 58th Class Share Lunch with Children
Jowon 1-dong in Suwon's Jangan-gu, together with the 58th class of Yonsei University's Graduate School of Human Environmental Sciences FMP program, held a lunch-sharing event on the 10th for about 100 children from a local children's center in the district.
The event was arranged to help restore the energy of local children exhausted by the heat and to support their healthy growth. About 20 representatives of the Yonsei University FMP 58th class who run restaurant businesses came together to prepare the lunch themselves.
The event was held at 'Donggang Malgeun Songeo (owner Son Myung-hee)' located in Jowon 1-dong, where the participating restaurant business owners provided meals consisting of naengmyeon (cold noodles) and yukjeon (pan-fried beef) for the children to enjoy, and spent a pleasant time chatting with them.
Lee Wan-sung, president of the Yonsei University FMP 58th class, said, "It is all the more meaningful to be able to look after the children's health this summer by combining the expertise and dedication of our members in the restaurant industry," adding, "We will continue to carry out sharing activities that support local children and neighbors."
Yoon Hyun-seop, head of Jowon 1-dong, said, "I am grateful to the members of the Yonsei University FMP 58th class who gave their precious time and dedication for the children," adding, "I hope this meal-sharing becomes a joyful memory and strong encouragement for the children. The administrative welfare center will also work in cooperation with the local community to create an environment where children can grow up healthy."
