The Suwon Lifelong Learning Center announced on the 12th that it will run a ‘Crime Prevention and Attack-Preparedness Self-Defense Special Lecture’ to enhance the crime-response abilities of single-person households.

The special lecture will be held over a total of four sessions and will teach hands-on response methods so that participants can avoid danger and secure their own safety in unexpected crime situations such as stalking, dating violence, and random assaults.

The program consists of △self-defense fitness △standing self-defense techniques and evasion/escape methods △striking self-defense techniques △methods to shift posture from dangerous positions △responses to weapon attacks △methods for using everyday objects nearby.

The training is led by Yang Gyeong-jin, a professor at Sogang Vocational School, who has taught arrest self-defense techniques, personal protection practice, and equipment usage in training for those who passed national qualification exams in the security and protection fields as well as in statutory education.

An official from the Suwon Lifelong Learning Center said, “In a sudden dangerous situation, what matters most is to quickly escape from danger and secure one’s own safety,” adding, “We will continue to prepare lifelong learning programs that provide practical help for the safe daily lives of citizens, including single-person households.”
