Gyeonggi Province Recruits 140 Young People for 'Social Solidarity Economy Work Experience' Program
Gyeonggi Province and the Gyeonggi Social Economy Institute are conducting a second round of recruitment for approximately 140 young people to participate in the 'Social Solidarity Economy Youth Work Experience Pilot Program' through the 24th of this month.
Social solidarity economy refers to economic activities that pursue social value, solve community problems, and promote sustainable development of communities. The program involves participation from cooperatives, community enterprises, and non-profit organizations related to social solidarity economy.
As a pilot project of the Ministry of the Interior and Safety this year, the province has 120 young people selected through the first round of recruitment in July gaining diverse work experience in social solidarity economy settings and developing employment competencies.
The second round recruitment target is 140 people. Eligible participants are unemployed youth aged 19 to 39 residing in Gyeonggi Province. Once selected, participants will work at participating organizations within their residential county or city for a maximum of four months from September through December, working 40 hours per week (5 days a week, 8 hours per day) and receiving a monthly pre-tax salary of 2.34 million won. Systematic support programs for stable work experience, including job training, counseling, and work situation monitoring, will also be provided.
Young people interested in participating can apply online through the Employment24 website (work24.go.kr) 'Government-Supported Job Recruitment Center' by noon on the 24th. Final participants will be selected through document review and interviews from August 26-28, with results to be communicated individually.

We will implement the program substantially to provide young people with meaningful career development opportunities, while bringing fresh perspectives and vitality from youth to social solidarity economy organizations and local communities."
