B : Can you make it quick? I gotta meet Bob for lunch.
A : Yeah, I just wanted to give you a heads-up about Mcgraw.
B : What is it this time?
A : He wants to organize a party for Sarah’s birthday.
B : Another birthday? I am getting so sick of singing happy birthday to people I barely know.
A: Yeah, and I can’t stand the sight of cake now.
A : 잠깐 얘기 할 수 있을까?
B : 빨리 할래? Bob이랑 점심 먹기로 했어.
A : 응, 그냥 Mcgraw에 대해 일러 주고 싶어서.
B : 이번엔 뭔데?
A : 그가 Sarah 생일 파티를 준비하고 싶어해.
B : 또 생일이야? 알지도 못하는 사람들에게 생일 축하 노래 불러주는데 너무 질렸어.
A : 그러니까, 이제 케이크는 보기도 싫어.

‘heads-up’은 형용사로는 ‘날쌘, 민첩한’ 이라는 의미지만 명사로는 ‘주의, 경고, 경계’입니다. ‘give someone a heads-up’은 ‘~에게 귀뜸해 주다, 일러주다’라는 의미로 해석할 수 있습니다.
Ex) She gave me the heads-up on the boss being angry. (그녀는 나에게 사장이 화가 나 있음을 귀뜸해 주었다.)
‘cannot stand/bear the sight of ~’는 ‘~는 보기도 싫다’라는 의미입니다.
