A : I'm so glad the weekend's finally here.
B : Me too. Imagine. It's a long weekend. We've got three days in a row.
A : So, where're you going?
B : I don't have any plans yet. I'll just play it by ear. How about you?
A : We're going to go hiking and camping in the mountains.
B : That sounds exciting! Can I join you?
A : Of course, you can!
A : 드디어 주말이 와서 너무 좋아.
B : 나도 그래. 생각해봐. 긴 주말이잖아. 3일 연속이라고.
A : 그래서, 넌 어디 갈 예정이야?
B : 아직 계획은 없어. 그때 봐서. 너는 어때?
A : 우리는 산에서 하이킹이랑 캠핑을 할거야.
B : 재미있겠는데! 내가 같이 가도 돼?
A : 물론 되지!

무슨 일이 연속으로 일어나는 것을 표현할 때 ‘in a row’를 사용합니다.
Ex) The pitcher struck out four batters in a row. 그 투수가 네 타자를 연달아 삼진 아웃 시켰다.
‘play it by ear’은 비 격식적인 표현으로 무언가를 미리 계획하지 않고 그때 그때 상황을 봐 가면서 처리한다는 의미를 가지고 있습니다.
Ex) We haven’t decided where to go, so we’ll play it by ear. 우리는 어디를 갈지 정하지 않았기 때문에 그때 그때 봐서 되는 대로 갈 거야.
