A : Spring is finally here! The weather should be warmer now.
B : Yes, but today has been very cold.
A : Do you think it will be the same temperature tomorrow?
B : I don't think so. The weatherman said it will be warmer than today.
A : Great! I'm tired of being as cold as ice.
B : Me too, winter always feels too long of a season.
A : 마침내 봄이 왔네! 날씨가 조금 더 따뜻해지겠지.
B : 그래, 그런데 오늘은 아주 춥네.
A : 내일도 똑같은 기온일 것 같아?
B : 아닐 것 같아. 기상 통보관이 오늘보다 따뜻할 거라고 했어.
A : 좋다! 얼음 같이 차가운 날씨에 질렸어.
B : 나도 그래. 겨울은 항상 너무 긴 계절 같아.

‘as cold as ice’는 비교 구문을 이용한 관용 표현으로 ‘얼음처럼 차가운, 매우 추운’이라는 의미입니다. 아래는 이와 비슷한 구조의 관용표현들입니다.
Ex) ▲as cool as cucumber 아주 침착한 ▲as hard as stone 돌같이 차디 찬, 무표정 한 ▲as bold as brass 아주 뻔뻔한 ▲as old as time 아주 오래된
‘be tired of’는 ‘~에 지친, 질린, 싫증 난’이라는 의미로 ‘be sick of’와 비슷한 표현입니다. ‘of’가 전치사이므로 뒤에 명사가 나오고 동사의 의미를 사용할 경우 형태가 명사인 동명사를 사용합니다.
Ex) I’m sick of cold weather. I’m sick of being as cold as ice.
