B: Not for me, I still have a week left.
A: You poor soul! So you still have finals to take?
B: Sure do, I'll have to hit the books this weekend to prepare.
A: Can I help you study? I have a lot of free time now.
B: Would you? Oh, that would be great!
A : 여름 방학이 다 왔어! 너무 흥분돼!
B : 나는 아니야. 난 아직 한 주 남았어.
A : 안됐다! 그래서 아직 기말고사 남은 거야?
B : 물론. 시험 준비로 이번 주말에 벼락치기 좀 해야 할거야.
A : 내가 공부하는 것 좀 도와줄까? 나 지금 여유 시간 많아.
B : 그럴래? 아, 그럼 정말 좋겠다!

‘hit the books’는 ‘열심히 공부하다, 벼락치기 공부를 하다’라는 의미입니다. 비슷한 표현으로는 ‘cram’이 있습니다.
Ex) He’s been cramming for his exams all week. 그는 시험을 위해 일주일 내내 벼락치기 하고 있는 중이다.
조동사 ‘would’는 정중한 부탁을 할 때 사용됩니다.
Ex) Would you please send me your resume? 저에게 이력서를 보내주시겠어요?
Would you be interested in tutoring my nephew? 내 조카를 개인교습 할 생각 있어?
