A: We need to talk, it’s very important.
B: Oh, I think I know what this is about.
A: About a month ago I said that I didn’t know what happened to your favorite pair of jeans.
B: Uh-huh, I remember you said that. I’ve spent a lot of time looking for them.
A: Well, I need to level with you. I accidentally bleached them and I was too embarrassed to tell you so I hid them.
B: No! This is terrible! I wish you would have told me this sooner. I am very disappointed.
A : 우리 얘기 좀 하자. 중요한 거야.
B : 어, 무슨 얘기인지 알 것 같은데.
A : 한 달쯤 전에 내가 네가 제일 좋아하는 청바지 어떻게 됐는지 모르겠다고 말했잖아.
B : 응, 네가 그렇게 얘기했던 거 기억나. 그거 찾느라 시간 많이 보냈지.
A : 글쎄, 너에게 사실을 털어놔야겠어. 사실 사고로 내가 그걸 표백을 해버려서 너한테 얘기하기가 너무 당황스러워서 바지를 숨겼어.
B : 안돼! 이건 끔찍해! 네가 이것을 더 빨리 말했으면 좋았을걸. 너무 실망스럽다.

‘level with somebody’는 ‘to tell someone the truth about something’으로 ‘~에게 사실을 털어놓다’라는 의미입니다.
Ex) I’ll level with you - I deleted the file by mistake. 너에게 사실을 털어놓아야겠다. 내가 그 파일을 실수로 지웠어.
‘I wish’ 뒤의 문장의 시제로 과거완료를 사용하면 과거에 일어났기를 바라는 표현이 됩니다.
Ex) I wish I had saved some money. 돈을 좀 모았으면 좋았을걸.
