A: I continue to have this reoccurring dream.
B: Is that so? What is it about?
A: In my dream I'm a little boy running around a beach looking for turtles.
B: What is so weird about a dream about turtles?
A: Well, the root of the problem isn't that the dream is weird, but I keep having the same dream about being a boy on the beach looking for turtles.
B: That is a bit strange. Maybe you should see a doctor about it.
A : 나 이 반복되는 꿈을 계속 꾸고 있어.
B : 그래? 어떤 꿈인데?
A : 꿈에서 내가 어린 소년인데 거북이를 찾으면서 해변주위를 뛰어다녀.
B : 거북이에 대한 꿈이 뭐가 그렇게 이상한데?
A : 글쎄, 문제의 근원은 꿈이 이상한 것이 아니라 거북이를 찾으며 해변을 뛰어다니는 소년이 되는 같은 꿈을 계속 꾼다는 거지.
B : 그건 조금 이상하다. 아마도 의사와 상담을 받아봐야겠어.

‘occur’은 ‘일어나다, 발생하다’라는 의미의 동사인데 앞에 반복을 의미하는 접두사 ‘re-‘와 형용사를 만드는 분사 ‘-ing’가 합쳐서 ‘반복하여 발생하는, 반복되는’이라는 의미의 현재분사가 됩니다.
Ex) It is reoccurring theme in this story. 그것은 이 이야기에서 반복되는 주제입니다.
‘the root of the problem’는 ‘문제의 원인, 근원’이라는 의미의 구입니다. ‘root 뿌리’가 들어간 다양한 표현을 알아봅시다.
