‘at the drop of a hat’은 ‘(주저하지 않고 없이) 바로, 즉각’이라는 뜻의 관용어 구입니다. 비슷한 표현으로는 ‘immediately, promptly, without hesitation, (as) quick as a wink’ 등이 있습니다.
Ex) The accident happened as quick as a wink. 그 사고는 눈 깜짝할 사이에 일어났다.
‘appreciate’는 ‘감사하다, 이해하다, 평가하다’ 등의 다양한 의미를 가진 동사입니다. ‘underappreciate’는 ‘인정을 덜 받다’라는 의미로 ‘underestimate 과소평가하다’와 비슷합니다.
