A: Hey, I'm looking for an apartment that is close to the subway and near my workplace.
B: So you're looking for the best of both worlds? I think I might have something for you.
A: Really? That'd be great!
B: I've just had a resident move out of a building that is about a 5 minute walk to the subway and a 10 minute walk to your workplace.
A: That'd be ideal, when can I move in?
B: I'll have the place ready in a couple of weeks.
A : 이봐요, 저는 지하철과 제 직장에 가까운 아파트를 찾고 있다고요.
B : 그렇게 다른 두 가지의 장점을 모두 갖고 있는 집을 찾고 있으시다고요? 제가 원하는 것을 갖고 있는 것 같네요.
A : 정말이요? 그거 잘됐네요!
B : 지하철 도보 5분거리와 당신의 직장까지 도보로 10분 거리인 집의 거주인이 이사를 나가는 곳이 있어요.
A : 완벽하네요. 제가 언제 이사를 들어갈 수 있죠?
B : 2주 후에 준비되도록 할게요.

‘the best of both worlds’의 영영 의미는 ‘the advantages of two very different situations’로 ‘두 가지 상이한 것의 각각의 장점’ 정도로 해석할 수 있습니다. ‘both worlds’ 대신에 ‘all possible worlds’를 사용하면 두 가지가 아닌 ‘모든 다른 것들 각각의 장점’이라는 의미가 됩니다.
Ex) The optimist proclaims that we live in the best of all possible worlds. 낙관론자는 우리가 모든 다른 것들 각각의 장점들을 가진 곳에서 살고 있다고 주장한다.
