GBSA Successfully Holds 'Pan Pan Day' to Boost Pangyo Startup Ecosystem
[Suwon Ilbo = Reporter Kim Gap-dong] The Gyeonggi Business & Science Accelerator (hereinafter GBSA) announced on the 24th that it held the 'Pan Pan Day' event to boost the Pangyo startup ecosystem at the Startup Campus in Pangyo Techno Valley on the afternoon of the 23rd.
'Pan Pan Day,' meaning to set up a scene (pan) in Pangyo, is a program promoted monthly by GBSA for startups in Pangyo seeking overseas expansion, with a total of 12 sessions to be held through December.
In addition, since March, GBSA has invited startups, domestic and international investment institutions, and large and small companies based in Pangyo to hold monthly events including △incubation company presentations (IR pitching) △one-on-one investment consultations with venture capital (VC) firms and accelerators (AC) △special lectures for overseas market entry.
At the presentation, small and medium venture companies within the province and G-Fund managers attended, conducting △investment briefings (introducing investment plans by G-Fund) △investment consultations (one-on-one investment consultations between investors and startups) △investment consulting (providing IR consultations and standard forms to companies seeking to attract investment).
In particular, this Pan Pan Day, marking its fifth session, expanded its recruitment scale and held one-on-one investment consultations for companies in the startup, manufacturing, and platform sectors through the G-Fund investment briefing.
The G-Fund is an investment association established and operated by Gyeonggi Province and GBSA to promote the growth of small and medium venture companies within the province, continuing to discover and invest in provincial small and medium venture companies in sectors such as materials/parts/equipment, second-chance ventures, and startups.
This year, the plan is to establish funds totaling more than 150 billion won targeting small and medium venture companies in the future growth sectors of AI, bio, and semiconductors, as well as in the startup and carbon neutrality sectors.
Going forward, GBSA plans to strengthen its multidimensional support system by organically linking the various startup accelerating programs being conducted in Pangyo. Through this, it is expected to create synergy effects among accelerating programs and further invigorate the startup ecosystem.
GBSA President Kang Seong-cheon said, "We will do our best to boost the Pangyo startup ecosystem and support investment attraction, centered on Pan Pan Day," adding, "We plan to carry out various support projects to foster startups in the future."
