Suwon City Opens Reservations for 'Namsuheon,' a Hanok Where Visitors Can Rest and Stay, Starting the 14th

‘Namsuheon (南水軒),’ a public hanok cultural facility built by Suwon Special City (Mayor Lee Jae-jun) in Namsu-dong, Paldal-gu, has completed its trial operation and is beginning official operation.

Located near the Suwon Hwaseong Fortress wall trail (11-453 Namsu-dong), Namsuheon is a stay-type complex cultural space where visitors can enjoy hanok accommodation and traditional culture experiences. After holding its opening ceremony on March 27, it underwent trial operation to inspect and improve its facilities and services overall, and from August 14 it will begin accepting accommodation reservations from citizens and tourists.

Namsuheon has a total floor area of 2,644.01㎡, with one basement level and two above-ground floors. Construction began in April 2023 and was completed in April this year. The first floor, which houses a gallery cafe and a hanok library, is an open cultural space that any visitor can use freely, while the second floor is an accommodation experience space with 12 hanok guest rooms.

The guest rooms are operated in various sizes, including rooms for 1-2 people, 3-4 people, and 6-8 people. Accommodation fees range from 180,000 to 500,000 won in the off-season. A flexible pricing system is applied during peak season and on weekends, and Suwon citizens are offered discounts for up to 10% of the rooms.

Awon Co., Ltd. (CEO Jeon Hae-gap) is in charge of operating Namsuheon. It handles the operation of the hanok accommodation experience facility and gallery cafe, program operation, and facility management.
