Suwon Saebit Care Lowers the Barrier to Ease Citizens' Burden

Suwon Special City (Mayor Lee Jae-jun), for citizens who feel burdened by the cost of using care services, will provide temporary support for the Suwon Saebit Care (Anyone) copayment until December 31 to citizens whose income exceeds 120% but is at or below 150% of the standard median income.

The support targets citizens who meet the eligibility criteria for the Suwon Saebit Care (Anyone) service and whose income exceeds 120% but is at or below 150% of the standard median income. It applies to new applicants from August 13 onward, and around 220 people are expected to be supported.

Currently, Suwon Saebit Care (Anyone) provides full coverage of the service cost to citizens whose income is at or below 120% of the standard median income. Citizens whose income exceeds 120% but is at or below 150% of the standard median income receive 50% of the service cost, and bear the remaining 50% themselves.

During the temporary support period, Suwon City will additionally cover even the cost previously borne by citizens whose income exceeds 120% but is at or below 150% of the standard median income. Citizens receiving the support can use the Suwon Saebit Care (Anyone) service with no personal cost, within an annual usage limit of 1.5 million won per person.

Suwon Saebit Care (Anyone) is a program that provides customized care services to citizens in need of care, including daily living care, accompaniment care, housing safety, meal support, temporary protection, rehabilitation care, and psychological counseling.

A Suwon City official said, “We hope this temporary copayment support will help citizens who needed care but hesitated to use the service due to the cost burden,” and added, “We will do our best to improve access to care and support the stability of citizens' lives and the recovery of the local economy.”
