Gyeonggi Province Future Generation Foundation Holds Second 'Future Generation Together' Program with Immigrant-Background Youth

The Gyeonggi Province Future Generation Foundation held the second session of ‘Future Generation Together’ with 29 immigrant-background youth at the Gyeonggi Province Youth Training Center on the 14th.

‘Future Generation Together’ is a social contribution activity that provides experience programs allowing immigrant-background youth to encounter Korean culture. The foundation signed a memorandum of understanding in April with Global Youth Centers in three cities—Suwon, Ansan, and Hwaseong—to establish a cooperative system supporting immigrant-background youth. In June, the foundation completed the first session with 31 immigrant-background youth from the Suwon center.

In the second session, immigrant-background youth from the Hwaseong center toured Daebudo island village by cycling and walking together. They also engaged in creative activities by collaborating on choreography, experiencing the process of learning dance moves together, and crafting regional specialty items including acrylic mood lights and shell mobiles.

Kim Hyun-sam, representative director of the Gyeonggi Province Future Generation Foundation, stated, “Supporting the growth and challenges of youth is an important role of the foundation.” He added, “We will continue to discover and implement social contribution activities reflecting the foundation's characteristics and strengths, consistently providing the future generation with diverse experiences and opportunities for growth.”
