A new web service has been introduced that allows job seekers to view recruitment information from companies near their residence at a glance on a map.

The Gyeonggi Province Job Foundation announced on the 19th that it is launching a new map-based job information service called 'Job Map' on the Gyeonggi Province Job Portal 'Jobaba'.

Job Map is a service that allows job seekers to explore nearby recruitment information on a map centered on their current location or desired workplace area. It was developed to support job seekers' employment choices by considering commuting distance and transportation accessibility alongside other work conditions.

Commuting time is cited as a major factor influencing job selection, comparable to salary and working conditions. According to Statistics Korea's "2024 Analysis of Commuting Worker Mobility Characteristics," the average daily commuting time for workers in the Seoul metropolitan area is 82 minutes. A survey conducted by Carrot Real Estate on 971 mobile app users also showed that "shortening commute distance and moving time to the workplace" was the most common criterion for choosing a residence at 40.2%.

Job Map expands the map-based job service previously offered through the foundation's mobile app 'Jobadream' to the PC environment. Unlike the existing list-based search method, users can intuitively view job postings in desired areas on a map. By navigating the map screen to explore nearby jobs, it is possible to conduct job searches while considering both workplace location and living area.

Users can select their current location or desired area, set a radius, and view nearby job postings at a glance. Keyword search and filter functions using various conditions are also provided. Users can distinguish between public and private sector jobs, and selecting a job posting on the map immediately displays detailed recruitment information. In particular, the recruitment information coverage has been expanded from Gyeonggi Province to nationwide, offering diverse job information regardless of region.

The Jobaba Job Map service can be used by anyone without complicated procedures. Simply access the Gyeonggi Province Job Portal Jobaba and select the 'Job Map' menu, or visit the Job Map website (job.gg.go.kr/map.do). On mobile devices, nearby job information can be accessed through the 'Jobadream' app.

Yoon Deok-ryong, CEO of the Gyeonggi Province Job Foundation, stated, "We have expanded our map-based service so that job seekers can more easily and quickly check job information in their desired areas," and added, "Going forward, we will continuously upgrade Job Map and expand and open the service to other provinces, public institutions, and job centers to develop it into a life-oriented job service that more citizens can conveniently use."
