Suwon Special City (Mayor Lee Jae-jun) has produced six successful candidates in the National Heritage Repair Technician examination for Korean plastering through its 'Suwon Hwaseong Village Artisan Training Program.'

The 'Suwon Hwaseong Village Artisan' program, which has been operating since 2024, aims to cultivate specialized personnel to enable citizens to participate as stakeholders in cultural heritage preservation. Suwon City is operating the program through a business agreement with the Gyeonggi Cultural Heritage Care Center.

Among this year's program participants, six passed the National Heritage Repair Technician examination for Korean plastering, achieving a 40% pass rate in the third year of operation. After gaining field experience, the successful candidates are scheduled to work as 'Suwon Hwaseong Emergency Repair Workers,' responsible for minor repairs to Suwon Hwaseong starting from 2027.

On the 19th, Suwon City conducted on-site cultural heritage repair training for 'Suwon Hwaseong Village Artisans' in the Dongilchi (東一雉) area of Suwon Hwaseong. The six village artisans learned the repair processes and work methods of Suwon Hwaseong from specialists at a cultural heritage repair company.

An official from Suwon City stated, "The 'Suwon Hwaseong Village Artisan' program is a meaningful initiative in which local residents participate as stakeholders in cultural heritage preservation," and added, "We will continue practical training and support so that the successful candidates can play their roles in the field."
