Suwon Special Municipal City (Mayor Lee Jae-joon) has appointed Andrew Kim, CEO of LaserVolt Technology, as an investment promotion ambassador for Suwon.

The appointment ceremony took place on the 26th at a dinner for executives of participating companies prior to the 'International Semiconductor Industry Group Executive Summit 2026 (ISIG Executive Summit Korea 2026)' held at the Suwon Convention Center Convention Hall. Suwon Mayor Lee Jae-joon presented the appointment certificate to Andrew Kim.

Suwon plans to appoint private experts with expertise and global networks in advanced industries as investment promotion ambassadors to effectively promote the outstanding investment environment of the 'Suwon Economic Free Zone' and Suwon's research and industrial foundation both domestically and internationally, and to strengthen global investment attraction activities.

The city also plans to integrate the experience and credibility of LaserVolt Technology, which has invested in Suwon, into its investment attraction activities to expand contact points with overseas companies, focusing on advanced industries such as semiconductors, artificial intelligence (AI), and biotechnology.

Suwon Mayor Lee Jae-joon stated, "Andrew Kim, who chose Suwon for investment and grew his company, will now join us as a partner in introducing Suwon's appeal to the world," and expressed expectations that "Your rich experience and expertise will be a great asset in conveying Suwon's competitiveness and potential to overseas companies."

LaserVolt Technology, the global leader in laser jet soldering systems for smartphone camera modules, is the ninth company to sign an investment agreement with Suwon. Following the agreement in November 2024, the company has significantly expanded its research and development (R&D) and manufacturing infrastructure. It provides advanced solutions optimized for smartphones, semiconductors, and advanced packaging industries by combining laser optics, precision processing, vision (Vision/AOI), and artificial intelligence (AI) technology.

The company counts major global information technology (IT) and manufacturing companies such as Samsung, Apple, LG, and Foxconn as customers. It operates its business centered on a vast global network spanning South Korea, Singapore, Hong Kong, China, Vietnam, India, and the United States.
