Pyeongtaek City Holds First Situation Briefing for Eulji Drill
Pyeongtaek City (Mayor Choi Won-yong) held the "2026 Eulji Drill First Situation Briefing" on the 18th at the City Hall Integrated Situation Room, with approximately 90 participants in attendance, including civil servants, military and police officials, and related agency representatives, in connection with the Eulji Drill running through the 21st.
The drill will be conducted over four days from August 18 to 21, designed to verify the effectiveness of the Chungmu Plan amid changing security environments and various complex crisis situations, and to protect the lives and safety of citizens.
During the drill period, Pyeongtaek City will conduct practical training combining tabletop exercises and actual drills, assuming various emergency situations including military provocation, disasters, and cyber attacks. Through this, the city plans to inspect the emergency response capabilities of administrative agencies and further strengthen organic cooperative systems with military, police, and related agencies.
Mayor Choi Won-yong emphasized in his remarks that "amid the recent unstable security situation, substantive crisis response preparation is essential, not optional," and urged "all participants to approach this Eulji Drill with the same mindset as real combat operations so that it does not remain merely a formality."
Pyeongtaek City plans to supplement issues identified through this Eulji Drill to further strengthen the region's security capabilities.
