Public-Private Joint Social Contribution Event for People with Mobility Challenges at 'Dongtan Family Pool'
Hwaseong Special City (Mayor Jung Myeong-geun) held a social contribution event on the 24th at Dongtan Family Pool, providing water play and leisure experience opportunities for people with mobility challenges in the city.
The event was organized by utilizing the pool's regular closure day to provide safe and enjoyable water play and leisure experiences during the hot summer months for those with mobility challenges who face difficulties with transportation and outdoor activities. The event aims to realize inclusive welfare through the utilization of public facilities and promote community coexistence and shared value.
The event was jointly prepared by Hwaseong Special City, Hwaseong Urban Corporation, and Dongtan City Hospital. Hwaseong Special City provided the Dongtan Family Pool facilities, Hwaseong Urban Corporation handled on-site management and operations on the day of the event, and Dongtan City Hospital provided medical personnel to respond quickly to any emergency situations.
Participants are expected to cool off from the heat and enjoy leisure time using the water play facilities and rest areas of Dongtan Family Pool. In particular, by enabling people to enjoy water play and relaxation in a safe environment, it is expected to provide a special summer experience for people with mobility challenges who typically face restrictions on outdoor leisure activities.
Cha Sung-hun, Director of the Industrial and Green Space Projects Division, stated, "We hope this event will be a time for people with mobility challenges to forget about the heat for a while and comfortably enjoy leisure time with their families. We will enhance the social value of public facilities so they become open leisure spaces for everyone, and expand opportunities for people with mobility challenges to participate in leisure activities."
