Yongin Special City to Operate 'Visiting Human Book Mentoring' Program in Second Half of Year
Yongin Special City (Mayor Lee Sang-il) announced on the 21st that it will operate the second-half program of the 'Visiting Human Book Mentoring' from September, which received high satisfaction and positive response from youth in the first half of the year.
The 'Visiting Human Book Mentoring' is a program in which 'Human Books' registered at Yongin City libraries visit local middle and high schools to share stories about career paths and humanities based on their experiences and knowledge, and communicate with students.
The second-half program will be held four times in total at four schools—Deokyoung High School, Shinbong Middle School, Dohyeon Middle School, and Cheon-in High School—from September to October.
On September 11, Human Book Ahn So-hyun will share stories about startup experience and career paths at Deokyoung High School under the theme of 'Starting a Design Company.'
On October 16, Human Book Jang Seok-jin will introduce writing methods at Shinbong Middle School under the theme of 'Writing Argumentative Essays and Essays.'
On October 28, Human Book Kim Suk-hee will train students in expressing their thoughts and emotions through writing at Dohyeon Middle School under the theme of 'Reading, Meditation, and Diary Writing.'
On October 28, Human Book Lee Kyung-ho will introduce methods of career exploration suited to the changing technological environment at Cheon-in High School under the theme of 'Career Readjustment Using Artificial Intelligence (AI) Big Data and ChatGPT.'
A city official stated, "The Human Book Mentoring program is an initiative where citizens with diverse life experiences and wisdom meet directly with youth and share their stories to help with career exploration." The official added, "In the second half, we will operate the program substantively so that youth can communicate with Human Books from various fields, discover their interests, and envision their future concretely."
