2026 Suwon National Heritage Night to Continue Through August 30...Suwon National Heritage Night Dramatically Extended
[Suwon Ilbo=Reporter Cheon Ui-hyun] Suwon City in Gyeonggi Province will extend operations of the "2026 Suwon National Heritage Night—The Tenth Evening, Suwon Yeonhyang" through August 30.
Originally scheduled to run for three days from August 14 to 16, the event has been significantly expanded to a 17-day program due to the continuous flow of citizens and tourists and positive reception.
The Suwon National Heritage Night is a summer evening festival featuring performances, exhibitions, and experiences set against the backdrop of the UNESCO World Heritage Site Suwon Hwaseong and surrounding cultural facilities. This year marks the festival's tenth anniversary.
During the extended period, diverse events will continue at three major venues: the "Yongyeon Gat Lantern" and "Banghwa Bridge Lanterns" around Yongyeon, "Hwahongmun Media Art" around Hwahongmun Gate, and nighttime lighting displays at Maehyang Bridge and Suwon Stream. The "Joseon Moonlight Market" and "Haenggung Willow Market," in conjunction with the nighttime opening of Hwaseong Haenggung Palace, will also be held.
A city official said, "We hope more citizens and tourists will enjoy the beautiful night scenery of Suwon Hwaseong" and added, "We will actively promote the extended operations to provide tangible benefits to local commercial districts."
