Gyeonggi Province conducted a pre-inspection on the 18th for safety management and prevention of crowd crush accidents at the Goyang BIGBANG concert, which is expected to draw large numbers of spectators.

The Goyang BIGBANG World Tour concert will be held at Goyang Sports Complex for three days from August 21st to 23rd, with an expected average daily attendance of approximately 36,000 spectators.

Gyeonggi Province inspected the safety conditions inside and outside the venue on the day and discussed safety measures with Goyang City and concert organizers.

In preparation for the possibility of spectators concentrating during specific time periods before and after the concert, the province closely examined the entry process and movement routes at the venue, as well as risk factors for crowd concentration in the surrounding areas. Through an on-site meeting, it also verified whether crowd accident prevention measures that could occur during spectator movement would function properly in the field.

Kim Kyou-shik, Director of the Safety Management Office of Gyeonggi Province, stated, “Large-scale concerts with concentrated crowds require thorough preparation not only for facility safety but also for the process of many spectators moving simultaneously,” adding, “We will carefully supplement any risk factors identified at the site before the concert and re-check the cooperation system among related agencies to ensure spectators can safely enjoy the performance.”

Gyeonggi Province will continue to share safety management matters with Goyang City and concert organizers through August 23rd when the concert concludes, and plans to strengthen field-centered advance safety management for large-scale concerts and regional festivals expected to draw significant crowds.
