Gyeonggi Province Conducts Safety Inspection Ahead of BIGBANG Goyang Concert
Ahead of the BIGBANG Goyang concert expected to draw large crowds, Gyeonggi Province conducted advance inspections on the 18th for concert venue safety management and prevention of crowd crush accidents.
The BIGBANG World Tour concert in Goyang will be held for three days from the 21st to 23rd at Goyang Sports Complex, with an expected average daily attendance of approximately 36,000 viewers.
Gyeonggi Province inspected the safety management conditions inside and outside the concert venue and discussed safety measures with Goyang City and concert-related officials.
In preparation for the possibility of concentrated spectator traffic during specific times before and after the concert, the province focused on checking the concert venue entry process, movement routes, and crowd concentration risk factors in the surrounding area. Through on-site discussions, it also verified that crowd accident prevention measures that could occur during spectator movement are functioning properly on site.
Kim Kyou-sik, Director of Safety Management for Gyeonggi Province, stated, "Large-scale concerts with concentrated crowds require thorough preparation not only for facility safety but also for the process in which many spectators move simultaneously." He added, "We will carefully supplement risk factors identified at the site before the concert and re-examine cooperation systems between related organizations to ensure that spectators can safely enjoy the performance."
Gyeonggi Province plans to continuously share safety management matters with Goyang City and concert-related officials through the 23rd when the concert concludes, and will strengthen site-focused advance safety management for large-scale concerts and local festivals anticipated to draw massive crowds.
