Gyeonggi Province Conducts Safety Inspection Ahead of BIGBANG Goyang Concert
Gyeonggi Province conducted preliminary safety inspections on the 18th at the BIGBANG Goyang concert venue to prepare for the large-scale influx of spectators and to prevent crowd-related accidents.
The BIGBANG World Tour concert in Goyang will be held from the 21st to 23rd for three days at Goyang Sports Complex, and is expected to attract an average of approximately 36,000 spectators per day.
On the day, Gyeonggi Province inspected safety management conditions inside and outside the concert venue at Goyang Sports Complex and discussed safety measures with Goyang City and concert-related officials.
In preparation for the possibility of spectator concentration during specific time periods before and after the concert, the province focused on examining the process of entering the venue, visitor movement routes, and crowd congestion risk factors around the venue. Through an on-site forum, it also verified that crowd accident prevention measures that could occur during spectator movement are functioning properly in the field.
Kim Kyu-sik, director of Gyeonggi Province's Safety Management Division, said, "Large-scale concerts with concentrated crowds require thorough preparation not only for facility safety but also for the process of many spectators moving simultaneously. We will carefully supplement risk factors identified at the scene before the concert and re-examine the cooperation system between related agencies to ensure that spectators can safely enjoy the performance."
Gyeonggi Province plans to continuously share safety management information with Goyang City and concert-related officials until the concert concludes on the 23rd, and will strengthen field-centered preliminary safety management for large-scale concerts and regional festivals with expected large crowds.
