Yangju City Opens Public Recruitment for Citizens' Evaluation Committee on Mayoral Campaign Pledges
Yangju City announced that it is opening public recruitment for the 'Citizens' Evaluation Committee on 9th Mayoral Term Campaign Pledges' to fairly and objectively evaluate the implementation of campaign projects from the 9th mayoral term and to reflect citizens' opinions in municipal policy.
A total of 30 members will be recruited and organized into six subcommittees: △general administration, △transportation and urban development, △education, △industry, economy, and employment, △culture, tourism, and sports, and △health and welfare.
Applicants must be at least 18 years old as of the announcement date. Anyone can apply, including △experts with rich experience and knowledge in respective pledge-related fields, △individuals who can represent local or pledge-related civic organizations, and △Yangju City residents who wish to actively participate in municipal development.
However, individuals engaged in activities for specific political parties or political purposes are excluded.
The recruitment period runs from August 20 to September 2. Applicants can submit relevant documents including an application form via email (mjgongju@korea.kr) or visit the Planning and Budget Division of Yangju City Hall to apply.
The city will conduct eligibility verification and internal review to make final selections for the citizens' evaluation committee, and results will be notified individually.
The citizens' evaluation committee on pledge implementation will present opinions on establishing and modifying action plans for pledge projects and conduct diagnosis, evaluation, and provide suggestions and recommendations on the overall implementation of pledge projects. The activity period runs from the date of appointment through the remainder of the 9th mayoral term.
Mayor Jung Duk-young of Yangju City stated, "Since campaign pledges are precious promises with citizens, it is important for citizens to directly review whether pledges are being carried out as planned and to provide their opinions. We ask for the keen interest and active participation of all citizens in the recruitment of the citizens' evaluation committee on pledge implementation."
