Gyeonggi Province Visual Impairment Welfare Center and Baewha Women's University Sign Autobiography Production Agreement

The Gyeonggi Province Visual Impairment Welfare Center (Director Yang Soon-bun) and Baewha Women's University (President Lee Hu-cheon) announced that they signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on the 25th to establish an industry-academia cooperative system and pursue mutual development.

The agreement was established to broaden social inclusivity and strengthen the university's ESG practices by recording and publishing the life histories of visually impaired individuals as autobiographies through the visual and sensory planning of designers.

In particular, students from the Department of Digital Content Design and Visual Media of Baewha Women's University will participate in the 'Visual Impairment Autobiography Production Project' promoted by the Gyeonggi Province Visual Impairment Welfare Center, utilizing their specialized knowledge in cover design, interior design, and editing to enhance the visual composition and quality of the autobiographies, and will practice social value through talent donation.

Professors of Baewha Women's University's Department of Digital Content Design said, "We are delighted that our students can deliver meaningful warmth to our society by utilizing the specialized knowledge they learned in the classroom," and "We hope that this autobiography production project will become a precious record of life for the visually impaired and provide an opportunity for prospective designers to learn the value of Inclusive Design in the field."

The visual impairment autobiography production project planned with this business agreement will be carried out with the goal of completion by December of this year, and plans to hold publication commemorative events and autobiography exhibitions together to inform the local community more widely.
