World's 131 Nations' Bottle Openers Gathered in One Place...Hwahong Saranghae Launches Special Permanent Exhibition

Kim Hun-dong, co-chairman of the Suwon Year of Visiting Promotion Committee, donated 2,290 bottle openers collected from around the world over half a century to Suwon City. The donation ceremony was held on the 23rd at Hwahong Saranghae.
Kim Hun-dong, co-chairman who has been actively engaged in the development of culture and arts in Suwon, donated his collection so that citizens and tourists can appreciate bottle openers from around the world together.
Suwon Special City will host a permanent exhibition titled "A Special World Journey Through Bottle Openers" showcasing bottle openers from 131 nations worldwide at Hwahong Saranghae.
The permanent exhibition will operate by selecting some of the donated bottle openers for display and rotating the exhibits quarterly. Visitors can explore the culture, design, and travel memories of each country contained in these small bottle openers. Hwahong Saranghae plans to introduce the stories embedded in the collection to visitors.

Suwon Mayor Lee Jae-joon and officials from the Suwon Year of Visiting Promotion Committee attended the donation ceremony. Mayor Lee Jae-joon presented a certificate of appreciation to Co-Chairman Kim Hun-dong.
Suwon Mayor Lee Jae-joon said, "I express my gratitude to Co-Chairman Kim Hun-dong for donating this precious collection gathered from 131 nations across the world over half a century for our citizens and tourists. In anticipation of the Suwon Year of Visiting 2026-2027, I hope that those who visit Hwahong Saranghae will view bottle openers from various countries around the world, appreciate diverse cultures, and enjoy a unique pleasure from their visit to Suwon," he said.
