Yangju City (Mayor Jung Duk-young) is launching a citizen-centered evaluation system in earnest to transparently and smoothly implement pledge projects that are promises to citizens.

The city held an appointment ceremony for the 'Citizen Evaluation Panel for Pledge Fulfillment' in the situation room at City Hall on the 2nd and held its first meeting to review implementation plans for 9th popular election pledge projects and gather opinions.

The citizen evaluation panel appointed this time comprises 30 citizens selected through public recruitment. The panel is divided into six subcommittees: ▲general administration ▲transportation and urban development ▲education ▲industry, economy and employment ▲culture, tourism and sports ▲health and welfare.

At the meeting, following the delivery of appointment certificates and education on the role of the citizen evaluation panel, implementation plans for 9th popular election pledge projects were reported comprehensively. Panel members raised questions regarding the direction of pledge project implementation and presented opinions.

Yangju City's 9th popular election pledge projects consist of six major areas with a total of 128 projects: ▲sustainable safe city ▲cutting-edge industrial economic city ▲well-connected transportation city ▲citizen-participation cultural city ▲premium future education city ▲lifetime peace-of-mind welfare city.

The citizen evaluation panel carefully reviewed the validity and effectiveness of the established implementation plans and presented diverse opinions and suggestions in line with citizens' perspectives.

Yangju City will operate the citizen evaluation panel in accordance with the "Yangju City Mayor's Pledge Management Rules" and plans to reflect the panel's opinions in future monitoring of pledge fulfillment, deliberation on pledge changes according to changing circumstances, and fulfillment evaluation processes.

Mayor Jung Duk-young stated at the meeting, "Since pledges are promises to citizens, it is important to carefully review their implementation process together with citizens. I will listen to diverse opinions from the citizen evaluation panel and create pledge fulfillment and outcomes that citizens can directly experience," he said.

Yangju City plans to comprehensively review the opinions presented by the citizen evaluation panel at this meeting, finalize the pledge project implementation plans, and fully disclose them to citizens through the city website.
