Suwon Special City Expands Postpartum Herbal Medicine Discount from September
Suwon Special City (Mayor Lee Jae-jun) is partnering with the Suwon Special City Korean Medicine Association to expand the beneficiaries of the 'Postpartum Herbal Medicine Discount Project' from September 1st to all childbearing women and pregnant women over 16 weeks who have experienced miscarriage or stillbirth.
Suwon City and the Suwon Special City Korean Medicine Association signed a 'Business Agreement for Expanding the Postpartum Herbal Medicine Discount Project' at Suwon City Hall on the 19th, pledging to cooperate. The signing ceremony was attended by Kim Eun-ju, Director of the Women and Family Division of Suwon City, and Kang Seo-won, President of the Suwon Special City Korean Medicine Association.
Through this agreement, the postpartum herbal medicine discount benefit, which was previously available only to women giving birth to their second child or later, is expanded to all childbearing women with their first child or later. Pregnant women who have experienced miscarriage or stillbirth at 16 weeks or later are also newly included as beneficiaries.
Eligible beneficiaries can receive a 100,000-won discount when they prepare postpartum herbal medicine worth 250,000 won or more. The discount amount is entirely sponsored by the Korean medicine clinics participating in the project.
Childbearing women can receive a 'Postpartum Herbal Medicine Discount Certificate' from their residential district administrative welfare center and submit it to participating Korean medicine clinics in the city. Expanded eligibility and application procedures will be available at district administrative welfare centers from September 1st.
Suwon City and the Suwon Special City Korean Medicine Association have agreed to cooperate based on this agreement to support the health recovery of childbearing women and pregnant women who have experienced miscarriage or stillbirth, and to create a childbirth-friendly social environment.
Kang Seo-won, President of the Suwon Special City Korean Medicine Association, said, "I am delighted to expand this meaningful project to support the health recovery of postpartum mothers together with Suwon City," and added, "I will provide high-quality medical services in cooperation with participating Korean medicine clinics."
Kim Eun-ju, Director of the Women and Family Division of Suwon City, stated, "I appreciate the Suwon Special City Korean Medicine Association for bearing the full discount amount and contributing to the expansion of the project," and continued, "We will work closely with the local community to create a childbirth-friendly city of Suwon where people can give birth and raise children."
Suwon City and the Suwon Special City Korean Medicine Association have been continuing the project since signing a postpartum herbal medicine discount agreement in 2013.
