Suwon, Hwaseong, Osan Move Forward in Cooperation for Mutual Prosperity

[Suwon Ilbo=Correspondent Seo Dong-young] The three cities of Suwon, Hwaseong, and Osan will establish liaison offices and expand permanent secretariat operations to promote cooperation.

Mayor Yim Tae-young of Suwon, Mayor Seo Chul-mo of Hwaseong, and Mayor Kwak Sang-wook of Osan held a 'Sansuhwa Mutual Prosperity Cooperation Meeting' at a restaurant in Osan on the 17th and discussed cooperation measures to this effect. Rep. Ahn Min-seok (Osan), Chair of the National Assembly's Culture, Sports and Tourism Committee, attended the meeting.

'Sansuhwa' is a name created by combining 'San' from Osan, 'Su' from Suwon, and 'Hwa' from Hwaseong, and has become a model of inter-local government cooperation for the recovery of regional community consciousness and mutual prosperity of the three cities in the Jeongjo cultural sphere.

At the meeting, the leaders of the three cities decided to establish Sansuhwa liaison offices to promote 'Sansuhwa cooperation' and to expand operations as a 'Sansuhwa Permanent Secretariat' in the future.

They also decided to hold a regular Sansuhwa Mutual Prosperity Cooperation Council meeting in January next year and hold a special lecture on the 'fundamental spirit of Sansuhwa.' A 'joint secretariat for the joint re-enactment of King Jeongjo's state visit' will also be established and operated.

In addition, to support pig farms in Hwaseong suffering from African swine fever and promote pork consumption, the three cities will hold a 'Hwaseong agricultural and livestock products Korean pork tasting and sales event' under the Sansuhwa initiative.

Suwon, Hwaseong, and Osan signed a 'Sansuhwa Mutual Prosperity Agreement' in November of last year, and in May of this year held the Sansuhwa Mutual Prosperity Cooperation Council inauguration ceremony and vision declaration ceremony, pledging to cooperate for the common prosperity of the three cities and the improvement of citizens' quality of life.
