Osan City Youth Policy Committee Holds 2-Day Youth Communication Workshop

[Suwon Ilbo=Reporter Seo Dong-young] Osan City held a "Youth Communication Workshop" for the city's Youth Policy Committee on the 23rd and 24th in Yongin City.

The workshop, attended by approximately 20 participants including youth experts from various fields, youth facility managers, youth activists, and related department staff, was organized to facilitate communication and share youth policies.

The workshop consisted of three parts: Part 1 on communication techniques using mind cards, Part 2 on the role and vision of youth as conceived by young people, and Part 3 on youth policy proposals and exploration of Osan City's youth spaces.

The youth committee members held discussions into the early morning hours on finding answers to the question "Why did we gather for Osan's youth?" and debating "What policies do you think would be useful for young people?"

Park Su-jin, chairwoman of the Youth Policy Committee, stated, "I hope such opportunities are provided more frequently so the Youth Policy Committee can become a communication channel for young people. We will make efforts to develop sustainable policies rather than short-term ones."

Osan City Mayor Kwak Sang-wook said, "We will identify the fundamental issues faced by young people starting their careers and communicate with more young people to realize customized youth policies," adding, "We will work together to make Osan City a place where young people are happy."
