Suwon City Holds Unveiling Ceremony for the Temperature Tower of Love on the 2nd

[Suwon Ilbo=Reporter Seo Dong-young] Suwon City held an unveiling ceremony for the ‘Temperature Tower of Love’ in the City Hall lobby on the 2nd, announcing the start of the ‘Hope 2020 Sharing Campaign.’

The fundraising target for the Temperature Tower of Love is 1.1 billion won. Starting at 0℃, it rises by 1℃ for every 11 million won raised.

The Temperature Tower of Love will operate until January 31 of next year. The donations will be delivered to underprivileged neighbors through the Gyeonggi Community Chest of Korea.

A donation ceremony was also held at the unveiling event that day. The Suwon City Operating Committee of the Gyeonggi Province Chapter of the Korea Specialty Contractors Association (7 million won), the Suwon City Medical Association (4 million won), and the Suwon City Internet Press Corps (1 million won) contributed donations. Suwon Mayor Yeom Tae-young and Suwon City Council Chairwoman Cho Myung-ja also took part in the donations.

Mayor Yeom said, “The Temperature Tower of Love that the city installs in the City Hall lobby every year is growing warmer year after year,” adding, “Last year, 1.3 billion won was raised, far surpassing the fundraising target of 1.1 billion won.”

Mayor Yeom added, “I sincerely thank everyone who practices warm love for underprivileged neighbors.”
