Osan City to Expand 'naGO Project' for Self-Directed Learning

[Suwon Ilbo=Reporter Seo Dong-young] Osan City is currently conducting learning assessments and workshops called the 'naGO Project' for self-directed learning targeting all second-year students at nine middle schools in the city.

The 'naGO Project' is one of the key programs of Dream Way, Osan City's Career and Academic Counseling Center. It is a program designed to help students who have not determined their learning direction after entering middle school to design their desired career path through self-directed learning.

During November, learning assessments were conducted for approximately 2,200 second-year students across nine middle schools in the city. Workshops have been ongoing since December 18th, beginning with Daeho Middle School. The workshops provide each class with an explanation and guidance on how to interpret and utilize the assessment results. A results report meeting will be held on the 26th, concluding with the Osan Middle School workshop.

Lee Sang-guk, director of the city's Lifelong Education Division, stated, "We will create an atmosphere where schools and the community work together to enable students to engage in self-directed learning. We will also provide a foundation for students to broaden their career horizons and find the career path they desire."

Next year, the city plans to expand the program to fifth-grade elementary school students so that more students can design their own career paths.
