Osan City Opens 'Hamkke Jaram Center Branch 3' for After-School Elementary Care

[Suwon Ilbo = Reporter Seo Dong-young] Osan City held the opening ceremony of 'Hamkke Jaram Center Branch 3,' an Osan-style all-day (together) care facility, at Osan Central Prugio Apartment in Busan-dong on the 16th.

The opening ceremony was attended by about 200 people, including Osan Mayor Kwak Sang-wook, Osan City Council Chairperson Jang In-su, Hwaseong-Osan Office of Education Superintendent Bang Yong-ho, officials of Osan Central Prugio Apartment, participating children, parents, and local residents.

The opening ceremony began with congratulatory performances by children using Hamkke Jaram Center Branch 1 and Branch 2, followed by a progress report, welcoming remarks, congratulatory addresses, the unveiling of the signboard, and a facility tour.

'Hamkke Jaram Center Branch 3' has a capacity of 36 users, and any elementary student in need of care can use it regardless of income.

Operating hours are from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. during the school term, and from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. during vacation periods.

Meanwhile, the city currently operates four Hamkke Jaram Centers and three Hamkke Jaram Classrooms, and is pursuing leading all-day care by building a care ecosystem together with various community resources such as the Osan Education Foundation, Osan Sports Council, Osan Social Economy Council, and Osan Volunteer Center.

Osan Mayor Kwak Sang-wook said, "We congratulate the opening of Hamkke Jaram Center Branch 3, and we will work even harder to build the Osan-style all-day care 'Hamkke Jaram' ecosystem so that all children in Osan can grow up healthy," adding, "We will continue to strive to make Osan a good place to raise children as a leading region in care."
