[Suwon Ilbo=Reporter Seo Dong-young] Yeongdeungpo-gu, Suwon announced on the 18th that it has completed the cadastral resurvey project for the 'Uiwi District,' encompassing 49 parcels and 107,944.4 square meters in the Uiwi-dong 910-1 area, which has been pursued since February.

The cadastral resurvey project is a national policy project aimed at resolving issues with paper cadastral maps that were handwritten during the Japanese colonial period and correcting land boundaries by newly surveying areas where the cadastral records do not match actual boundary conditions.

The 'Uiwi District,' designated as a project area in 2019, was a region where the cadastral records did not match the actual status of land in use.

Following the launch of the full project in February, the district confirmed boundaries through land owner boundary consultations, deliberations by the boundary determination committee, and objections to boundary determinations, and completed the project by preparing new cadastral records.

Meanwhile, the cadastral resurvey project provides adjustment payments to or collects from landowners when changes in area occur in cadastral records as a result of boundary confirmation.

In the case of the 'Uiwi District,' approximately 1.7 billion won in adjustment payments were collected. Compensation fees for municipal land occupation are also scheduled to be charged at approximately 500 million won, increasing total tax revenue by 220 million won.

A district official stated, "With the completion of this project, as cadastral boundaries become clearer, we expect that boundary disputes between landowners will be resolved, blind spots on the cadastral map without access to roads will be eliminated, and lands will be regularized in shape, thereby protecting residents' property rights and increasing the utility value of land."
