Suwon City Publishes "Travel Through Suwon 2020" to Introduce City Administration Plans

[Suwon Ilbo=Reporter Seo Dong-young] Suwon City has recently published a publication titled "Travel Through Suwon 2020" to introduce this year's city administration plans.

Unlike conventional promotional brochures with a rigid format, "Travel Through Suwon 2020" is structured like a travel guide introducing a new destination, sketching out major city administration plans for this year.

This publication, which embodies the city's commitment to creating a "readable promotional brochure," presents major policies, projects, and places worth visiting. Featuring photographs taken throughout Suwon, the publication dedicates more space to photos than to text.

The publication consists of three chapters: "New Interests," "Best Enjoyments," and "Your Life," with each chapter containing six to seven subsections.

"New Interests" introduces major projects and events taking place this year, including the Smart City Challenge project, the Fourth Asia-Pacific Environmental Ministers Forum, and the Urban Regeneration New Deal project.

"Best Enjoyments" features libraries, hanok archives, night tourism destinations, and places worth visiting. "Your Life" introduces employment policies related to citizens' lives, railway construction, shared childcare centers, and support programs for seniors and youth.

Suwon Mayor Yeum Tae-young stated in the foreword, "This year's city administration plans are filled with 'excitement,'" and added, "We structured the publication like a travel guide so that this sentiment is well conveyed to readers."

The articles published in "Travel Through Suwon 2020" were drafted by Lee So-hee, team leader of the City Policy Planning Division, and officials Choi Jun-hyuk and Jeon Sun-kyung.

Last July, the city published a new-format city administration achievement promotional collection titled "Reading the Brilliant Suwon Now" to commemorate the first anniversary of the seventh term of the elected administration, which received positive reviews. The publication was composed of hypothetical essays naturally introducing city policies and essays by notable figures with connections to Suwon.
