Osan City Implements Preemptive Measures to Prevent Virus Spread, Distributes Masks

[Suwon Ilbo=Reporter Seo Dong-young] Osan City has decided to conduct emergency disinfection at crowded public facilities including train stations, transit centers, and vulnerable facilities, and to distribute infection prevention supplies to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

As of 9 a.m. on the 30th, the city reported no confirmed cases. The health center is managing five people including those with symptoms (one symptomatic, one suspected case, three in self-quarantine). To date, eight people have been released from isolation.

To proactively block the spread of COVID-19, the city has installed thermal imaging cameras at the health center and is operating screening clinics. In particular, infection prevention supplies including 6,000 masks and 6,500 hand sanitizers have been urgently distributed to public places such as senior centers, daycare centers, and administrative welfare centers for socially vulnerable groups.

Additionally, the city health center call center has been expanded from one line to four lines to handle inquiries related to COVID-19.

A health center official urged people who entered the country within 14 days of visiting China and have symptoms such as fever or respiratory symptoms to report immediately, and stressed, "To prevent infectious diseases such as coronavirus, it is important to wash hands frequently and cover your mouth with your sleeve when coughing."
