(Breaking) Suwon Reports 17th Confirmed COVID-19 Case....Recent Overseas Visits Including Italy

[Suwon Ilbo = Reporter Seo Dong-young] The 17th confirmed case of COVID-19 has been reported in Suwon. It has been confirmed that the patient recently visited Italy and other overseas locations.

Suwon Mayor Yeom Tae-young announced through his Facebook that a 24-year-old male residing in Aiparkscity Complex 4 in Gwonseon-2-dong, Gwonseon-gu, Suwon tested positive.

The confirmed patient showed COVID-19 symptoms including high fever and sore throat starting from the 7th. On the 8th at 11:21 a.m., he drove his own vehicle to the screening clinic at Gwonseon-gu Health Center to provide a sample for diagnostic testing. At 10:40 p.m. that same day, he tested positive according to the Green Cross Medical Foundation test results and is scheduled to be transferred to an isolation ward.

The suspected infection route for the confirmed patient appears to be Italy and other overseas locations visited recently.

Mayor Yeom said that detailed information will be promptly shared once the epidemiological investigation is completed.
