Yeongdeungpo-gu to Conduct Intensive Safety Inspections of Daycare Center Shuttle Vehicles
[Suwon Ilbo=Reporter Seo Dong-young] Yeongdeungpo-gu in Suwon will conduct intensive inspections of the structural integrity and operational status of 29 shuttle vehicles from 24 daycare centers in the district on the 1st and 3rd of next month.
The district will conduct inspections jointly with the Korea Road Traffic Authority at the district government public parking lot while adhering to social distancing guidelines, examining vehicle condition and operational status.
The inspection will focus on ▲registration status of shuttle vehicles for children ▲comprehensive insurance coverage ▲tires and vehicle condition ▲safety of vehicle safety devices (child exit confirmation devices, seat belt defects), among others.
In particular, inspectors will verify compliance with COVID-19 prevention quarantine measures including ▲all shuttle vehicle passengers wearing masks, temperature checks, and hand sanitization ▲vehicle disinfection and ventilation prior to boarding ▲securing hygiene management supplies.
The district will require violations caused by lack of familiarity with relevant regulations to be corrected immediately on-site or through voluntary compliance, and will take administrative measures against illegal practices.
A district official stated, "We will make our best efforts to prevent safety accidents through thorough safety inspections and management going forward, and create daycare centers where parents can send their children with peace of mind."
