Suwon Recruits Applicants for General Restaurant Standing Table Replacement Support Project
[Suwon Ilbo=Reporter Seo Dong-young] Suwon City is recruiting applicants for the 'General Restaurant Standing Table Replacement Support Project' by the 4th of next month.
The standing table replacement support project considers the inconvenience that elderly people and people with disabilities face when using floor seating, and supports partial costs when restaurants using floor seating tables switch to standing tables. The target number of general restaurants is 9 establishments.
▲Installation of standing tables and chairs (2 sets or more) ▲Installation of infant dining chairs (minimum 1 or more) ▲Installation of automatic hand sanitizers within the establishment (minimum 1 or more) ▲Installation of table partitions to prevent COVID-19 spread (for interested establishments), etc. The city will support 50% of the cost of purchasing goods (maximum 1.5 million won per establishment).
Establishments that have registered as a general restaurant with Suwon City and have operated for 12 months are eligible to apply. Small-scale sanitary establishments (less than 80㎡), restaurants participating in food culture improvement policy initiatives, and designated restaurants (model restaurants, sanitary grade rated establishments) will be given preference.
Establishments that have received administrative sanctions of 'business suspension' or higher within the past year, general restaurants in the form of bars such as hofs and soju tents, business operators during closure, and local tax delinquents are excluded from support eligibility.
Announcements can be found by visiting the city website (https://www.suwon.go.kr), searching 'Standing Table' in the 'Suwon News'→'Notices/Proclamations/Legislative Notice' bulletin board.
Applicants must complete the application form and business plan and submit them in person to the Sanitary Policy Division (Temporary Civil Service Center, 1st Floor, Annex Building, Suwon City Hall). Applications cannot be submitted on Saturdays and Sundays.
After evaluation of appropriateness, effectiveness, and budgetary validity through document review and on-site investigation, the 'Food Promotion Fund Review Committee' will select the final recipients.
Jung Yong-gil, director of the Sanitary Policy Division, said, "General restaurants have suffered significant losses as sales have plummeted due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic," and added, "I hope the standing table replacement support project will be of some help to those operating general restaurants."
