Paldal-gu Implements Special Protection Measures for Vulnerable Groups During Winter

[Suwon Ilbo=Correspondent Seo Dong-young] Paldal-gu in Suwon City will implement special protection measures for vulnerable groups during the winter season through February 2021.

The district plans to conduct comprehensive surveys of basic living security recipients, middle-aged single-person households, and elderly living alone to support crisis households in welfare blind spots. Existing welfare recipients will undergo actual condition surveys through face-to-face and non-face-to-face consultations, after which public and private resources will be connected and implemented.

Additionally, the public and private sectors have agreed to work together to help elderly residents in the district safely survive the winter through operating cold wave shelters, educating elderly residents about winter safety, and providing safety supplies, among other measures.

Paldal-gu Chief Kwon Chan-ho stated, "This year, vulnerable groups in society are expected to face a particularly difficult winter not only due to cold waves but also due to COVID-19," and added, "We will do our best to ensure that vulnerable residents can safely get through the winter."
