Yongin City Employees Donate Incentive Bonuses to Support Vulnerable Neighbors
[Suwon Ilbo=Reporter Park No-hun] Yongin City announced that on the 14th, employees from the city's Ecological River Division and Suji-gu Construction and Road Division visited the mayor's office to donate 10 million won in incentive bonuses they received from Gyeonggi Province, requesting that the funds be used to help people in need.
The incentive bonus was awarded by Gyeonggi Province in recognition of efforts to remove illegal facilities from Goggyeri Valley in Gogi-dong, Suji-gu, from July to November of last year.
Rather than using the bonus as encouragement funds within their departments, the employees decided to share it with people in difficult circumstances.
The city plans to deliver the amount received to vulnerable populations, including elderly living alone and low-income families, through the Gyeonggi Social Welfare Fundraising Council.
Mayor Baik Gyun-gi said, "I am grateful for the hearts of employees who shared the incentive bonus they received as a result of their diligent work with those in need," and added, "I hope that employees will continue to take responsibility and actively identify inconveniences experienced by citizens in their work."
Meanwhile, the Love Train Relay campaign is scheduled to continue until February 5 next year, with a fundraising goal of 1 billion won.
