[Suwon Ilbo=Reporter Park Chan-hyuk] Mayor Jung Myeong-geun of Hwaseong City visited areas affected by record-breaking heavy snowfall on the 30th to inspect the damage.

The mayor visited △livestock farm damage sites in Ujeong-eup △grape farms in Songsan-myeon △seedling nurseries in Namyang-eup △factory damage areas and other locations to assess the damage situation and listen to on-site difficulties. He then instructed relevant officials to minimize citizen inconvenience through swift recovery.

This heavy snowfall brought average snowfall of over 30cm to the Hwaseong area, causing various damages including road snow coverage and icing as well as the collapse of factories and vinyl greenhouses, compounding citizen inconvenience.

Meanwhile, the city is operating the Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters 24 hours a day and responding with all-out effort to recovery from heavy snowfall damage. The city plans to focus all administrative resources to ensure smooth recovery by cooperating with the government and requesting additional support.

Mayor Jung Myeong-geun of Hwaseong City said, "The city will support citizens damaged by heavy snowfall by mobilizing available manpower and resources," and "We will do our best in snow removal response and advance safety inspections to prevent additional heavy snowfall damage."
