Kim Dong-yeon: "Complete beautiful baton pass for 9th elected term based on fruits of 8th term"
[Suwon Ilbo=Reporter Kim Gab-dong] Governor Kim Dong-yeon of Gyeonggi Province urged civil servants to prepare seamlessly for the upcoming 9th elected term's new leap forward based on achievements accumulated over four years of the 8th elected term, and to prioritize livelihood and safety measures to protect residents' lives.
Governor Kim presided over a key provincial government executive meeting at Gyeonggi Provincial Government on the morning of June 2nd and said, "The four years of the 8th elected term have been a rewarding and meaningful time spent together with all of you, proving that 'when Gyeonggi Province changes, the Republic of Korea changes.'"
In his opening remarks, Governor Kim expressed deep gratitude for the dedication of civil servants, saying, "The protagonists of change are indeed you, the Gyeonggi Province civil servants. You have transformed the lives of 14.2 million residents with exceptional sense of responsibility, creativity, and passion." He added, "I urge you to work together so that the capabilities of our civil servants can contribute to Gyeonggi Province's development and improvement of residents' quality of life alongside the new 9th elected term's elected official."
He further stated, "When the transition committee is activated, I request the establishment of a comprehensive support system so that the elected official's vision, policies, and pledges can be implemented smoothly from the beginning of the term." He emphasized, "I hope you will complete a beautiful baton pass so that the fruits of the 8th elected term can lead to a leap forward in the 9th elected term."
At the meeting, discussions included the status of emergency economic response related to the Middle East crisis, summer safety management measures including flood damage and heat wave prevention, and preparations for the launch of the 9th elected term.
