Rep. Son Myung-soo Wins 'Republic of Korea Constitutional Award' for Second Consecutive Year in 22nd National Assembly First Half

[Suwon Ilbo=Reporter Choi Ki-ho] Rep. Son Myung-soo (Democratic Party, Yongin) won the 'Republic of Korea Constitutional Award' selected by the Legal Consumer Alliance. As a member of the Land, Infrastructure and Transport Committee in the first half of the 22nd National Assembly, he was selected as a recipient for the second consecutive year, receiving recognition for his outstanding expertise and legislative capabilities.

The 'Republic of Korea Constitutional Award' is a legislative evaluation that comprehensively assesses 12 quantified items including △state affairs audit scores, △attendance rates at plenary sessions, △attendance rates at standing committees, △bill passage rates, and △budget and settlement special committee activities of National Assembly members. The award is recognized for its high credibility among legislative evaluations conducted by civic organizations.

Rep. Son Myung-soo served as a member of the Land, Infrastructure and Transport Committee in the first half of the 22nd National Assembly, focusing on transportation infrastructure development, residential issues, safety problems at construction sites, and the promotion of autonomous vehicle pilot cities, working to improve structural problems and formulate effective policies.

Through this work, he led the enactment of the 'National Land Infrastructure Basic Act,' a key bill for balanced national development and public safety, and introduced various bills including partial amendments to the 'Autonomous Vehicle Commercialization and Support Act' for institutional improvements and industrial competitiveness enhancement in autonomous driving and future mobility fields, as well as partial amendments to the 'Occupational Safety and Health Act' and the 'Housing Sales Act,' partial amendments to the 'Urban Redevelopment Act and Housing Act,' and the 'Act on Improvement of Traffic-Disadvantaged Persons' Accessibility,' demonstrating active legislative work.

Additionally, he took the lead in pursuing △extension of the Bundang Line and expansion of rail infrastructure in southern Gyeonggi Province, which are aspirations of Yongin citizens, and achieved visible results in addressing local constituency issues including △increasing express buses numbered 5000, 5003, 5005, 5006 and establishing new routes from Seocheon to Seoul Station and from Gangnam University to Seoul Station to resolve commuting traffic inconvenience, and △immediate installation of safety facilities at the Singal Expressway bus stops.

Rep. Son Myung-soo remarked, "Being selected as a Constitutional Award recipient for the second consecutive year after last year makes me feel a greater sense of responsibility," and added, "In the second half of the 22nd National Assembly, as a member of the Government Administration Committee, I will work to resolve financial and livelihood economic issues, and I will continue my legislative work with a spirit of constant self-improvement to create a better Yongin and a true Republic of Korea where people can live happily."
