Osan City Extends Educational Cooperation with Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education Lifelong Learning Center Through 2028

Osan City (Mayor Cho Yong-ho) announced on the 25th that it has extended the lifelong education activation business agreement concluded with the Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education Lifelong Learning Center through 2028.

Since their initial agreement in 2024, both organizations have operated the ‘Osan City-Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education Lifelong Learning Center Empathy Exchange Cooperation Program.’ Through this program, parents and students in Osan have been able to access expert lectures providing information necessary for school life and career guidance and academic advancement.

The program, which has been operated over the past two years, has held a total of 15 sessions with 511 parents and students participating. In keeping with changes in the education system, the program has consistently addressed high-interest topics at home such as school record management, the high school credit system, and self-directed learning.

This year, the program expanded its scope beyond education and college admissions to include youth safety. Four programs have been operated: △‘Creating Inquiry Reports Directly by Students, Achieving School Records’ △‘Understanding the High School Credit System Correctly’ △‘Cybercrime Consuming Teenagers, Safety Net Protected by Law’ △‘Self-Directed Learning Methods for Elementary and Middle School Parents.’

‘Preparing for Comprehensive Student Records Evaluation with Inquiry Reports,’ held on the 22nd at the Osan City Hall conference room, was one of them. The education focused on content that students can utilize in school life and college entrance preparation, including inquiry report writing methods and school record management.

Osan City Mayor Cho Yong-ho stated, “Through two years of cooperation, parents and students have been able to access information necessary to prepare for school life and career guidance in nearby locations,” adding, “Going forward, we will carefully consider the educational needs of the region and continue to develop programs that provide practical assistance to students' growth and parents' educational concerns.”
