Gyeonggi Tourism Organization Launches 'Gyeonggi Western Regional Theme Bus' from December 12

The Gyeonggi Tourism Organization will operate the regular routes for the second half of the year of the 'Gyeonggi Western Regional Theme Bus,' which connects seven cities in Gyeonggi's western region—Bucheon, Hwaseong, Gwangmyeong, Gimpo, Siheung, Ansan, and Pyeongtaek—from December 12 through the end of November.

Prior to the operation of the regular routes in the second half, the Kkitour Press Corps will conduct a press tour over two days from December 8 to 9, and will promote the regional theme bus through travel content based on direct experiences of major tourist attractions in the western region.

The 'Gyeonggi Western Regional Theme Bus' is a regional tourism product designed to expand tourism from individual city-focused travel to inter-city connected tourism. It connects the distinctive characteristics of each of the seven cities—history, ecology, maritime, nature, culture, and wellness—by theme, allowing visitors to tour two regional attractions in a single day.

In the second half, eight regular routes will be operated: △Hwaseong-Pyeongtaek, △Gwangmyeong-Bucheon, △Pyeongtaek-Hwaseong, △Ansan-Siheung, △Gimpo-Bucheon, △Hwaseong-Ansan, △Siheung-Ansan, and △Gwangmyeong-Gimpo. The Kkitour Press Corps press tour, conducted prior to the operation of regular routes, will visit major attractions including Bucheon Natural Ecology Park, Hwaseong Seohae Cable Car, Gwangmyeong Cave, Gimpo Healing Foot Bath Experience, Siheung Gaetgol Ecological Park, Ansan Glass Island Museum, and Pyeongtaek Tiger's Belly Navel Brewing. The press corps will produce travel reviews and tourism content based on on-site visits and experiences and introduce them through the Gyeonggi Tourism Platform, personal blogs, and SNS.

An official from the Gyeonggi Tourism Organization stated, "We will provide new tourism opportunities to experience the attractions of multiple regions through the regional theme bus," and added, "Based on the vivid experiential content from the Kkitour press corps, we plan to continuously introduce diverse tourism resources and contribute to the revitalization of tourism and local economy in the province."
