Ilsan Bridge, Third Gyeonggin Expressway, Seo-Suwon–Uiwang Road Tolls Frozen Until March 2027

Gyeonggi Province announced on the 14th that it will freeze tolls for 2026 on three private sector roads under its management: the Ilsan Bridge, the Third Gyeonggin Expressway, and the Seo-Suwon–Uiwang Expressway.

The toll freeze follows an directive from Governor Choo Mi-ae, and the frozen tolls will be maintained until March 2027.

At a standing committee meeting of the Gyeonggi Provincial Council's Construction and Transportation Committee on the 9th, opinions were raised that caution is necessary regarding toll increases for the Third Gyeonggin and Seo-Suwon–Uiwang roads, considering fairness with the Ilsan Bridge and the burden on residents.

Gyeonggi Province decided to actively review whether to increase tolls in the first half of 2027, taking into consideration toll rationalization in response to inflation, the user-pays principle, and mitigation of Gyeonggi Province's fiscal burden.

Gyeonggi Province Governor Choo Mi-ae stated, "I hope that this toll freeze decision will help ease the transportation cost burden on residents who are experiencing difficulties due to rising prices and economic downturn," and added, "Going forward, we will implement rational toll policies by comprehensively considering residents' burden and fiscal conditions."
